Car stand


This car parking area at the rear of a property is very small and the plants are overgrown. The gravel has sunk and this makes it difficult to manoeuvre in and out.

The gravel has been removed and saved for later. The area has been excavated down to a firm base. There was a lot of loose soil under the gravel which led to the subsidence. Around the outside edge a concrete foundation has been poured. This will support a low retaining wall which will be back filled with crushed stone and compacted to support the slabbed surface.

A path has been cleared through the shrubs to allow access directly from the garden.

The slabs have been laid, in this case 50 mm thick pressed slabs as they will support the weight of the car. The wheel width ramps have been exttended along the length of the entrance to ease access.

With the car stand completed a step has been added to access from the garden.
